winter camping

Before you set off into the woods, make sure that you have a pack prepared with food like energy bars or trail mix to keep you moving, plenty of water, dry, protected matches, a space blanket to keep you warm and to signal for help during the day, an LED flashlight or LED lantern for use at night, a compass, and the best survival knife that you can find or afford. Outdoor camping equipment is sometimes hard to find.

You will want an LED flashlight instead of a regular flashlight for several reasons. Times when the bulb of your flashlight dies out, or the spring inside the flashlight falls out and gets lost while you were changing the batteries, seem to happen in the worst times. Pack tents and sleeping gear so you can gather around the fire and cook a great meal while telling ghost stories or playing games.

Environment can range from freezing to sweltering hot, even in the same day, as the altitude and weather changes. Share your breakfast with a chipmunk, all without leaving your campsite.

Things seem so huge when you're a small child. A good pair of footwear can help you walk faster more comfortably. There are many mummy type sleeping bags that are extremely warm and designed to withstand temperatures of ten degrees and below.

Food should be planned depending on the duration of your stay. Campfire cooking will bring everyone together for an enjoyable evening of storytelling and great food.
